Shikantaza (after Wayne Hogan)

She sits
on the roof listening
or not listening
to imaginary stars speaking
or not speaking
to slivery moons
by midnight
her dark pigtails taut
arms held soft
and feet mutually matching

How often can kingdom
come to this
completeness
perfectly unnoticing
