Change Ghazal

Thin windows locked in metal frames
tapped out post shrill wintering.

Simmer for awhile while I reminisce.
Kiss this season of new greens hello.

Halo in evidence just past dusk.
Leftover crusts of snow gray, pale, small.

Screens in the garage almost warm enough
to go on duty keeping spiders out.

Interrupted innocence still virginal
imposing a posse of old rules.
