All Quiet

With land around us
Various eucalyptus
Leaves young leaves old
And aspen flittering.

I want the world
To hold still as
In a camera what is
Captured held and kept.

Every day I remember
How much I need you
Not to die. This happens
Again, and again

I keep not hearing
What you have told me
In confidence all quiet
Here in the silent West.
