Three Men, Three Cows

The left ear of each of the trio
of men seated in a row appears
to resemble the number three.

Although the three seated may seem the same,
look at their shirts for the slightest hint
that each man differs from the other two,

not merely in clothing but likely through
personality, brains, inclination.
Just observe and listen. One may laugh

a little more than the others, perhaps
read books the others might rather not,
or listen to music or make music

no one else could. And what about the cows?
They may look the same, but anyone who knows
animals probably understands

personalities assume forms of their own,
thereby transform others' view of daylight,
darkness, and the surprise of what comes next.
