Leisure as Healing (after Wayne Hogan)

Solo recliner pillowed up
and empty invites a lie-down,
as some Brits say. Just look at
the uncreased long-form colorless
expanse above the stepstool, a place
to position tired feet at the moment
not dancing, but maybe in a while.
How likely is dream, that open ticket
to adventure, taking a moment not
to bother penciling down some thought yet
invest in restoration at last learning
not to do transcends to do that vast
to-do of chores various and slim
littering the life of the mind embodied.
